The production team for upcoming OCN drama ‘Neighborhood’s Hero’ (working title), has confirmed today that actor Park Si Hoo will headline.

The drama will be directed by Kwak Jung Hwan, and tells the story of an ex-secret agent Baek Shi Yoon who meets a temporary worker that aspires to be a police officer. Baek Shi Yoon decides to train the young worker as a secret agent, and they team up to fight against evil.

Baek Shi Yoon is described to be a well-trained human weapon. He buys a small bar after leaving his past behind, and lives a lonely life. He slowly gets close to the neighborhood regulars at his bar, sympathizes with them, and decides to integrate himself into their lives, and fight for them against evil.

Filming will officially begin in September, and it will premiere early next year.

In After Love, Park Si Hoo will be acting as a cold and indifferent airline employee and a former pilot named ‘Kim Sung Joon.’

After Love is a romance film about a man who realizes his love for his wife, after she leaves him. It will be directed by director Eo Il Seon, who also directed the film Plastic Tree and Between. Director Eo Il Seon won Main Award from 52nd Mannheim-Heidelberg Award with the film Plastic Tree.

‘Kim Sung Joon,’ played by Park Si Hoo, is a former pilot who becomes part of the ground crew after losing his ability to hear on his right ear and marries a girl named Eun Hong after a blind date, even though he doesn’t love her. He treats Eun Hong as if she is just another piece of furniture and become a workaholic. After Eun Hong’s unexpected death, he realizes Eun Hong’s sincerity for the first time and goes out in search of her first love.

Making his return to the big screen in Korea since Confession of Murder, Park Si Hoo will be taking on his first role in a Korean romance film. Park Si Hoo recently starred in the romance film Scent with Chinese actress Chen Ran, receiving positive feedback for his acting.

The fact that Park Si Hoo will be collaborating with director Eo Il Seon has also been sparking interest. After Love will begin filming in Jeju island in November and premiere in May of 2015.

Hoo Factory, Park Si Hoo’s agency, stated, “Park Si Hoo has been feeling both excited and pressured to be making his comeback to the big screen in Korea after two years and began analyzing his character. We will work hard to show a new side of Park Si Hoo.”

Park Si Hoo proved himself a hallyu star once again through the press conference for his new Chinese movie Scent.

Park Si Hoo attended the press conference for Scent on March 26 at JW Marriott Hotel in Beijing, beginning official promotions for the film. 

The event involved red carpet, hand printing and cake cutting events followed by a conference with the reporters. The conference was attended by over 350 fans from Korea and China as well as over 100 reporters from about 70 media outlets.

Park Si Hoo answered every question asked with his trademark smile, responding to the cheering fans even from outside of the event hall. 

Taking the role of a Korean designer ‘Kang In Joon’ in Scent, Park Si Hoo will be acting out a romance along with a Chinese actress Chen Ran. The filming, which took place around Beijing and Shanghai, was completed on January 26 and the movie will premiere in the summer. 

Hoo Factory, Park Si Hoo’s agency, reported, “We were able to feel China’s enthusiastic response towards Park Si Hoo through this press conference. We will be working harder to repay the support shown by the fans in Korea and China. Please continue to show your support.”
