♥ PSH in my Travelogues :: Busan in Spring 2014 ~DAY 5 ♥

~DAY FIVE~
::22nd April 2014::

Day 5 in Busan was pretty hectic as I tried to cover as many places for us to visit including my Buyeo Jagiya's film location^^ I had to scheduled everyone to be ready at the lobby by 7am (6am Malaysian time so I woke up at 5am…-.-), had a quick breakfast at the lobby's Cafe and head towards Busan station by subway. Here's our simple quickie breakie of just ham & omelette sandwich and blueberry bagels with some butter, jam and some bacon which is not on the snapshot coz it ended in some of our hungry stomachs^^…ㅎㅎㅎ and some coffee to perk us up!

So get ready for a trail of lots of mouth watering photos of Hansik and follow me around like a blind mice leading another blind mice as I tracked "Kang In Joon"'s sweet scent in Busan from now on just using my "anthena" to "smell" him in the Busan air where his footsteps were, without prior knowledge so I missed some of them but nevertheless it gives me another chance to return to Busan someday in future^^…ㅋㅋㅋ

We walked to the subway station which was just 5 minutes away from our hotel and took the subway train to the Busan Station. We boarded our train at Centum City Station  No :: 206 from green line till 13 stops at Seomyeon Station…counting and looking at the Subway map inside the train just in case we missed it. (>.<;)…from Seomyeon Station, we changed into the orange line and boarded the train towards Busan Station which is 6 stops away at No :: 113. The whole trip took us about 30~40 minutes^^

I was here in my last trip via Seoul in the KTX train and all this babo could remember was that this station has alot of stairways and elevators^^…ㅎㅎㅎ When I saw the counters inside, all I could think was I requested to "exchange" my body with Julie Nim who was here to see Sihoo Oppa filming his "Scent" movie so my soul must be lingering here somewhere ala "Master Sun" and now back in one piece on my own body!^^…ㅎㅎㅎ

I walked around asking some locals where is the Busan City Tour Bus Stop was and ended up walking up and down the elevators like a babo!! -.-  Finally, I followed the exactly what a local Korean passer by who only spoke limited English using his hand direction, I managed to find the Bus stop signage just opposite the Arirang Hotel! AigooOO…this babo is really a blind mice!!! (>.<;)

The exact direction of the Busan City Tour Bus Stop from Busan Dynamic is facing the Busan Station building, it's on the RIGHT side of the road, look for Arirang Hotel and a 24 hours convenience store next to it for landmark.

We were there past 8:30am so we waited for the bus to arrive at 9am, queue up, bought the tickets and boarded the Busan Dynamic bus for the Taejongdae Loop on the Blue Route at KRW10000 (USD10/RM30) per person. We chose this way to tour so that we get see to see the beautiful view of Busan and from the map, the distance from our hotel Subway Station in Centum Station to TAEJONGDAE PARK  is quite a distance!^^

We didn't alight from the bus till we reached the last destination at Taejongdae Park as there wasn't enough time to see the rest of the stops. Taejongdae Park alone had us all walking for more than 2 hours so when we arrived at Taejongdae Park, I got a map in English and had a quick study, wondering where did my Buyeo Jagiya did his filming for his movie Scent^^ I have no clue at all except this babo knew it was in Taejongdae Park….. ㅋㅋㅋ

Here is the map of Taejongdae Resort Park in Busan where my Buyeo Jagiya's movie "Scent" was filmed.  It's a huge park and most local Koreans go there for hiking and picnic so expect a lot of walking with a pair of comfortable walking shoes so please don't don on a Ma Hae Ri's "Grace" stilettoes unless Sihoo Oppa is there to carry you on his back when you're tired^^~ㅎㅎㅎ

From the entrance, we walked uphill for about 10~15 minutes until we reached the Danubi Train Station where we bought a ticket at 1,500KRW (USD1.50/RM4.50) per person and waited for the Danubi Train to take us around the park. It's an unlimited hop on and hop off transport from our last previous destination^^~

We waited in queue for our turn to take the Danubi Train which took almost 15~20 minutes. There is 3 of these carriages but they get filled up very quickly!^^ As there were alot of stops to pick and it just started to drizzle, when we arrived at the first stop, I saw the sign "Pebble Beach". Since there wasn't many people alighting from the train and moreover majority of my family members thought of stopping by the more famous stops further up so we missed this stop which in fact the first stop was actually the destination where "Kang In Joon" was  TAEWON PEBBLE BEACH ….ㅠ ㅠ ㅠ ㅠ ㅠ

So this trip, this babo missed her date with "Kang In Joon" at Taewon Pebble Beach (>.<;)…he must be waiting in vain while the April spring shower came down dripping on his handsome face…ㅠ ㅠ  ㅠ  Chongmal biannae (I'm really sorry)….my Buyeo Jagiya…ㅠ ㅠ ㅠ

My Buyeo Jagiya in his new role as "Kang In Joon" in deep thoughts while he was dating his Korean girlfriend, sitting on the rocks of Taewon Pebble Beach. She held on to his hand tightly as they both look out at the ocean…so in love but why did she left him in the end? I can't wait to find out the answer this August 2014!

This is the iconic wave and smile of my Buyeo Jagiya to all his princesses who travelled to see him at his "Scent" movie filming location at Taewon Pebble Beach. It was drizzling when my Buyeo Jagiya was filming but he was so happy to see all his beloved fans who came to support him, mostly Japanese fans with some China fans and Korean fans.

If I was there that day, and this might be the view of my teeny weeny Buyeo Jagiya in a far distance!  @@!…He is like the color of the Belgium flag…ㅎㅎㅎ Any chance of him being Belgium supporter in the World Cup?…ㅎㅎㅎ They should have given him an umbrella with blue and white colour which will represent Taegeuk Warrior's colour!^^~ㅎㅎㅎ …ok!….OK!…World Cup Semi Final is playing at the time of this writing!!!…there you go!!^^

Here are some of the adorable and cute future Miss Korea and Korean celebrities waiting for their Danubi train^^….look at this pretty and cute little princess with her pink ring!^^…practically posing for me…maybe trying to show me that "Kang In Joon" proposed to her instead of this babo who didn't turn up!…=.=!….ㅎㅎㅎ

We all alighted at the 3rd stop ~ OBSERVATION DECK with this omoni and aegi (mother and children) monument with brreathtaking views around the cliffs and ocean^^

I climbed up to the top level and saw a small exhibition for Choi Ji Woo Ssi who is the Godmother of Hallyu in Malaysia through her role in the classic "Winter Sonata". She is the first Korean actress in my first Korean drama which I saw on TV in 2000 and the scene which she danced to the tempo of the song "Dancing Queen" while Bae Yong Jun Ssi peeped at her , smiling in awe…will always stay in my mind forever^^~ ♥.

That is a Hotteok that she is eating and we managed to try some later in the evening and let me tell you, it's seriously incredibly delicious!!! *slurp*…we just wanted to try it so we bought just one and the first one dissappeared in a few seconds, we bought the 2nd one and it dissappeared again the moment it's out from the frying oil and the last one was free of charge coz the vendor was laughing at us all returning to buy so many times^^….ㅎㅎㅎ

These are the same pretty Korean pine trees like the ones I saw in Jejudo^^

Our next stop was YEONGDO LIGHTHOUSE which left me breathless with the view and all the walking down and up again on the trail… (>.<;)….here is the left side of the view when I walked down from the lighthouse alone which is really steep while the rest of my family members were huffing and puffing up and down busy taking photos^^…ㅎㅎㅎ

I was the only babo among my family members who was rather curious where the flight of stairs lead to so looking down at the bottom , I saw there were a few clam tents selling fresh seafood and standing on the rocky stairs taking photos makes my knee buckle abit as the strong sea breeze started to blow and circle around me^^…ㅋㅋㅋ

Here is a shot while looking up at the lighthouse where I stood and these ajosshis and ajummas were full of stamina than this babo, trekking up and down the stairs….ㅎㅎㅎ

On the left, I saw another trail leading to some picnic sites where some Koreans were having a great time taking photos while enjoying the view and having picnic^^

I walked down a little bit further and but I dare not carry on walking to the bottom end as the trip hiking back up will be too torturing!…(>.<;)

As it was almost time for lunch and everyone was getting exhausted from all the trekking up and down the stairs, we decided to drop by for our last stop at TAEJONGSA TEMPLE which was decorated with lots of colorful lotus shaped lanterns!^^

While exploring around to see if this was the same temple which "Kang In Joon" was, I found some different species of Cherry Blossom while walking around the temple grounds^^….omo ono… it looks like "Kang In Joon" went to another temple in Busan^^…ㅋㅋㅋ

I've seen these huge cauldrons on the KBS TV food documentaries and I always wondered how do they actually cleaned it up after cooking as they seemed to be cemented!^^ When I see them…I can hear the "Dae Jeum Geum" OST floating in my mind^^….Onara Onara Aju Ona~~~If asked to come, will he really come?…my Kang In Joon?…ㅎㅎㅎ

Spring is indeed here with so many beautiful flowers everywhere^^

Anyeong to Taejongdae Park for now^^ We waited for our Busan Dynamic tour bus for almost 30 minutes to arrive and the ride took about 45 minutes and most of us were so exhausted from all the long walking, climbing and hiking, we practically doze off in the bus…ZZzzzzzz…. and woke up just in time to see the scenic view of the coast when we almost arrive at our destination ~ JAGALCHI MARKET ^^

AigooOO….it's so good to be back after so many years! The last time I was here, this new building was still under construction^^ The old Jagalchi Market was like any other regular wet seafood market.

I used to patronise a handsome Ajosshi's stall which he tended with his equally handsome hyung (older brother) and beautiful nuna (older sister) twice during my trips to Busan but this time I couldn't find him anywhere -.-…perhaps I didn't look hard enough as the stalls have double up in this new building! Look at the rows of fresh seafood…@.@

To my left & to my right, a haemul here and a haemul…haemul everywhere…eeya eeya yoOO^^

The amount of mollusk choices from giant kkhomak (cockle)  , golbaengi (whelk),
galibi (scallop) , gul (oyster)….@@!

to meongge (sea pineapple)!

and some pretty interesting colorful fishes!!!^^

After walking back and forth a couple of times, I decided to choose this stall as the Ajoshhi selling them have most of the haemul that I would like to order^^ This friendly, pleasant looking ajosshi is very tall and large size, looking like some wrestler from WWE…ㅎㅎㅎ…but he couldn't speak English at all just like the last handsome Ajosshi …(>=<);….why are all the handsome namja in Korea can't speak English yo???….so this babo have to start bargaining with him each haemul I chose…time for me to speak my hilarious Hangul^^~ㅎㅎㅎ…eegaw olmanaeoyoOOO? (how much is this?)

Obviously this friendly Ajosshi laughed at this babo and asked where my family members and I are from…so I told him…"Malaysia Saram eoyoOO" (Malaysia people)…ㅎㅎㅎ He laughed at me and I started to choose the haemul and he was clicking away at his calculator and kept showing me the price of each haemul so I told him in halting hilarious Hangul with some hands language of coz^^…but not in the exact perfect sentence as below…I wasn't even speaking Konglish…probably sounds like some Rubbish….ㅎㅎㅎ…but he seems to be able to understand what I tried to tell him^^

Ajosshi, how much are all these….give me a discount…next time if my friends from Malaysia come to Jalgalchi Market , I will tell them to visit Ajosshi for seafood! Please give me your business card and I will post in my blog^^ He agreed and gave a very reasonable price for our big haemul lunch!^^

He asked me how did I learn how to speak Hangul so I simply told him that I learnt from my famous namja chingus from Korea .."Jang Dong Gun Ssi…Park Si Hoo Ssi"…and one local Korean Ajosshi who passed by, behind me suddenly burst out laughing out loud at my sudden silly remark about the famous Korean actors…and his neighbouring stalls Ajummas laughed together with him^^…ㅎㅎㅎ…that's the way to break the ice with handsome namja in Korea yo!

Here is his stall number :: 66 & 67 which is located at the middle , the outer row near to the entrance^^ If any of you go and find him there, tell him I sent you!^^~ the Malaysian babo (the silly Malaysian) and I'll visit him next time I'm in Jalgachi to get some free haemul as commission yo!^^~ㅎㅎㅎ

He gave me his business card but he couldn't write his name spelled in English except his sirname is Kim…I asked him…"Kim Soo Hyun"?…he laughed again…aigoooOO^^…Then I asked him for help to talk to the vendor upstairs in Korean about how I want my haemul to be cooked…sashimi (raw), steamed or stir fried and he nodded his head^^ Finally, while we were upstairs enjoying our haemul, he came upstairs and gave me another name card with his English name written as Kim Dong Woon^^ㅎㅎㅎ

Unlike my last handsome Ajosshi who sold me the haemul while his Nuna cooked them, this time I need to buy the haemul from his friendly Ajosshi and then proceed to upstairs for another vendor to cook them for us. Here are the rows of seats either facing the coast or the middle lane which we sat as  per the friendly Ajosshi recommendation^^

My Buyeo Jagiya is also a haemul lover like me^^…ㅎㅎㅎ

Sihoo Oppa!^^….how come your Jeongbok  (abalone) is extremely giant size yo?!!!
Chincha Daebak yo^^~!!! (really amazing^^~!!!) \\(♥o♥)//~~
Korea jeongbok is chongmal masshiseoyooOO (very delicious) *yums*
Deo juseyooOO^^~ (please give me some more^^)ㅎㅎㅎ

Now came the most interesting haemul and this is the main reason I brought all my family members here to Jalgalchi Market for some Sannakji ( live octopus) which I started to eat after watching Korean famous veteran actor Choi Min Sik in his "Oldboy" and I love it! This is my 3rd visit back here just to look for more sannakji and I prefered the last handsome Ajoshhi's preparation with his special sauce.

This is the friendly Ajosshi's hand holding the live baby octopus to show us^^…eeewwooOO

I remember there was a scene in my Buyeo Jagiya's drama "Princess Prosecutor" where he was asked to eat some sannakji and since his role grew up in USA, he makes it looks like he was eating some bizarre food like Westerners trying to eat our Asian durians^^….ㅎㅎㅎ…such a great actor who left me bawling with laughter with his adorable expressions^^ㅎㅎㅎ…

*squirm*…ㅋㅋㅋ…yes^^…I took this photo and this is how it looks like!^^~ ㅋㅋㅋ

Who knows? Sihoo Oppa might be a sannakji lover in real life! When I first tried it…this is my expression above^^ㅎㅎㅎ…mmm…not bad!!…*chew* chew* chew*….ㅋㅋㅋ

I wanted our lobster served raw…so I told the friendly Ajosshi…ee goh…(this)…ee lobster (this lobster)….san…(raw)…shashimi…(to double make sure^^…ㅎㅎㅎ)…and before I utter another word, he took the knife and *CHOP*…the poor lobster was still alive and moving was chopped into half!!!…ㅎㅎㅎ…that is how FRESH haemul is from Jalgalchi market!!^^

The lobster meat from the body was served raw while the head was steamed^^~ *yummy*

All of us loves this Kijogae (comb penshell)  alot and we had a second order for this!
Definitely Highly recommended!!^^

I'm not kidding but these HUGE scallops as big as the size of the golfball!^^ Yummy*!!^^

These baby leopard sharks and red sea perch which were dancing to the rhythm of KPOP became sliced sashimi dipped in chogochujang and savoured as delicacies^^~ㅋㅋㅋ The shark meat was quite tough -.-!

This slimy looking sea eel ended up stir fried with some gochujang sauce and sprinkled with toasted sesame seed…simply delicious and meaty!^^ *yummy*

The king of them all was the snow crabs…another second order after the first round was too good and everyone loves it! *slurp*

This is the pure fresh essence from the ocean packed with iron and zinc~!!!
When Clara Onni had a spoonful of it, she went….WOOooOOOOo…ㅎㅎㅎ

Look at those snow white crab meat!^^….During happy meals like this, we both were so thankful to Sihoo Oppa coz whatever we enjoyed eating…it was because of him we get to enjoy these blessed moments in life^^Chongmal Gamsa Hamnida…my Buyeo Jagiya! You added more flavour to our delicious food in Korea and somehow surrounded with the ambience of your Taegeuk homeland, all the hansik tasted extra delicious with you in our hearts and mind^^ Also gomawo (thanks) to my Clara Onni too for coming along with me and having such wonderful precious times of our lives together and she is the best Onni in the world to me~!!^^ ~

The Ajummas who cooked and served us must be thinking this whole family is from another planet water with the way I kept calling her …"Ajumma…mool juseyo"…(Aunty…some more water please) and we ended up having 6 bottles of water and one bottle of soju^^…ㅎㅎㅎ

Some banchan as starters to whet our appetite^^ In the end, when I called for the bill, I went to the lady boss there and asked for her name card and surprisingly I caught a extremely familiar 박 ….followed by a …so I exclaimed in halting Hangul…Ajumma…irumi…Park Si Hoo??…She looked at me and started laughing out loud and the other Ajumma who served us followed suit and they both kept laughing at this babo…and she explained…Aniyo (No)….Park Si Hyun…omo omo….so close!!! I gave her some tips and told her the same story again as per what I told friendly Ajosshi and she nodded her head and that was my sealed agreement with my new found base for my future trips to Jalgalchi Market!!^^ Fighting~!!! ㅎㅎㅎ

Before we left Jalgalchi Market, we went over to the other side where they sell dried seafood and we bought some dried scallops, dried fish meats , dried abalone and some fish meat snack and this kind Ajosshi gave us some extra free fish meat snacks so please look for him if you're in Jalgalchi Market^^

This below hanging on the rafia strings are Hongeohoe (dried fermented skate)…I haven't try it yet but I first learnt about it through the Korean "Hello Counsellor" talk show on KBS^^ I'm putting that on my future agenda on my food trail in Korea^^….ㅋㅋㅋ

It was past 3pm when we're done with our lunch and our next destination was Gamcheon culture village, the famous Santorini of Korea. I've been to Santaroni so if you ask me to rate between these 2 places, I would choose Gamcheon coz it's more colorful and full of local culture^^…my memories of  Santaroni is just mainly overated by its blue and stark turquoise blue houses , deep blue Aegean Sea  below and lots of cats wandering around^^….ㅋㅋㅋ….my apologies to Greece but I still love you yo^^

We took the subway, and a bus there and at the entrance, we started to walk along where the small streets lead us too and it feels like a storybook world…lots of pretty flowers, funny little quaint shops scattering along the street^^

Lots of colourful flowers welcome Spring^^

Here is a view panning from left to right of the whole village facing the ocean^^

This particular shop looks very familiar to me like the one in the Korean drama " When A Man Falls in Love" but in a more smaller version without the second storey upstairs^^ Here is another painting of the whole village on one of the walls^^~

After walking to the almost the end of the village where the locals had some farms, we sat down to rest while the breezy air cool us down looking down at the whole colorful village^^ Nice feeling and everyone didn't want to leave^^~ㅎㅎㅎ

That night half of the family members were too full from the Jalgalchi Market haemul eating spree so only 3 of us for dinner. Looking around we found a restaurant cum pub serving chicken on their menus  but later noticed there is an interesting signage showing a traditional Korean restaurant serving galbitang! Yums…dinner was exceptionally a satisfactory with their delicious food.^^

From horse meat to cow meat so far I can only think of the superdelicious snow crabs bidding me "jalja nae kkhum kkuwar~! (sweet dreams of me~!)….ㅎㅎㅎ

Next to day 6 in Busan…(Coming Soon)
