《香气》:新文艺电影主打淡淡的忧伤
《Scent》: A new artistic movie with a touch of sadness.

2014年7月23日讯,电影《香气》定档于8月15日全国公映,这几天,影片的制片人郭立珺正忙着电影宣传的事情,对于这位曾经在电视圈耕耘十多年的电视人来说,自己以前拍摄的各种电视剧和数字电影都是为了给电影制作做准备,电影,才是她和她的公司同事们的终极梦想。
23rd July 2014, the well-reviewed movie “Scent” is set to premiere nationwide on August 15th. These days the movie producer, Guo Li Jun is busy with the movie promotion . She once worked in television broadcasting and entertainment circle for more than 10 years, she has filmed various TV shows, digital movies and is preparing for movies production. To her and her colleagues, movie is their ultimate dream.
郭立珺是立卓兴宇影视传媒广告北京有限公司的CEO,电影《香气》是她们公司制作的第一部电影,她把这部由曾翠珊执导,韩国演员朴施厚和中国女演员陈燃主演的电影定义为“新文艺电影”,“也就是有文艺气质的商业片。”在她的心目中,类似这样的影片除了去年黄真真导演、白百何主演的《被偷走的那五年》以及汤唯主演的《晚秋》外,还有许鞍华导演、汤唯主演的电影《黄金年代》,后者将在今年的年底公映。
Guo Li Jun is the CEO of Lizhuo Xingyu Entertainment Media Advertising (Beijing) Co., Limited. The movie “Scent” is the company’s first movie production, she assign this movie to be directed by Jessey Tseng Tsui Shan, starring Korea actor Park Si Hoo and Chinese actress Chen Ran which is defined as "the new artistic movie", "which has literally all the artistic temperament of commercial movies. "In her mind, similar to the movie from last year when movie director Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed “The Stolen Years” and Tang Wei starred in “Late Autumn” and in addition, there is movie director Ann Hui, Tang Wei starring in the movie “Golden Era”, which will be released by the end of this year.
《香气》改编自一直以来担任张艺谋文学顾问的王斌老师的一部小说《味道》,这已经是3年前的事情,目前拍摄成的电影已经跟原著小说有了很大的改变,这也是为了适应电影画面的需要。不过原小说的基本元素都保留了下来,比如片中一直出现的“鸽子”,它成为贯穿影片情感发展的一根纽带,让这部电影在结尾部分有了悠长绵延的韵味,散发出淡淡的幽香。
《Scent》 has been adapted from Zhang Yimou’s literary consultant, Mr Wang Bin‘s novel "Flavour". This encounter was from three years ago and is currently being filmed into a movie which has been greatly changed from the original novel in order to meet the needs of the movie screen. Nevertheless, the basic elements of the original novel are retained, such as the "dove" which has appeared in the movie, it became an emotional link in between the development throughout the movie, so that the movie concludes with long stretches of charm, emitting a faint scent.
《香气》也可以被解读为是一部女性群体制作的电影,剧组中的制片人、导演、监制都是女孩,“只有女人才最懂女人。”郭立珺告诉本报记者,她希望观众在看了这部电影后,“会有种恋爱的冲动,这是一部女性想看、男人不得不的陪着去看的电影。”
《Scent》 can also be interpreted as a group of females making movies, the whole crew of director, producer are females, "only women understand woman the best." Guo Li Jun told reporters that she hopes after watching the movie, viewers "will have the impulsive feeling to love, this is what women wanted to see, the men must accompany and stay to watch the movie.”
原著小说《味道》的男主角是一名日本人,但拍成电影后,男主角改成了韩国人,在经过了多次的角色遴选后,在中韩两国人气很高的朴施厚最终成为了不二人选,“他笑起来很温暖,没有了小男生的青涩,但他是一个有经历的人,沉淀下来后,会让女性感到踏实。”电影从去年12月开拍,到今年的2月份结束,在韩国釜山拍摄的时候,几百影迷一直伴随着自己的偶像朴施厚,郭立珺记得有一次在海边拍摄,当时下着大雨,但是粉丝们都穿着雨衣,打着雨伞一直守候着,有些还贴心地给剧组送上食物,让郭立珺非常感动。
The original male lead in the novel “Flavour” is a Japanese, but made into a movie later, the male lead was recast into a Korean. After a number of selection for the role, the high popularity in China and South Korea, Park Si Hoo eventually became the best chosen one . "He has a very warm laughter, with young male innocence but he is an accomplished person, he will let women feel at ease after settling down. The movie was filmed since last December until the end of February this year. At the time when filming was in Busan, South Korea, hundreds of his fans were accompanying their idol, Park Si Hoo. Guo Li Jun remembered the one time filming at the beach, when it was raining heavily, but his fans were wearing raincoats while umbrellas were kept aside, in some cases, some were so caring for the crew and sent food too, Guo Li Jun was very moved.
郭立珺希望电影《香气》除了在视听感官层面带来观众艺术的享受外,她更希望这部电影能够散发出一种“气味”,“这是一种人与人之间的味道,能够让观众在观影的过程中,回想起曾经有过的爱情,闻到身边人熟悉的味道。”
Guo Li Jun hopes that the movie “Scent” , besides bringing the audience to enjoy the artistic audio-visual sensory level, but she also hopes the movie exude a kind of "scent", "this is the kind of flavour that varies from person to person, allowing viewers in the process of viewing, recalled they once had love, to get the whiff of the familiar scent around them.”

记者:为什么第一部电影选择了王斌老师的小说?
Reporter: Why is the first movie chose to base on Mr Wang Bin’s novel?
郭立珺:其实我们跟王斌老师有十几年的交情,他也是一个性情中人。我在做电视剧的时候就一直酝酿着要做一部电影,有一次跟他聊天,他说自己刚好有几本小说完成了,其中就有一本是《味道》,也就是电影《香气》的原著小说。
Guo Li Jun : Actually , we have more than ten years of friendship with Mr Wang Bin and he is also a sentimentalist. When I was doing drama, I have been impending to do a movie, had a chat with him, he said he had just completed several novels, of which among them , there is “Flavour”, in which is the original fiction of the movie “Scent”.
《味道》是一部在描述上比较平静的小说,没有大起大落的情节,它是在一种淡淡的忧伤中去探讨现代人对于爱情的向往和追寻。当代的年轻人对于爱情往往有一种迷失的感觉,很多人都在说要活在当下,这其实是在给自己设立一种人生态度。但现实中未必都能达成自己的要求。很多东西包括婚姻来得快去的也快,一切都是一种快速的状态,我们试着想去抓住一些东西,但却发现很吃力,很渺茫。小说中的那种因为迷失、所以带来一点忧伤的情绪、同时又想去努力寻找的感觉打动了我。这些隐藏在小说背后的东西促使我想去把它拍成电影。
《Flavour》 is a relatively calm in the description of novel, no big ups and downs in the plot. There is a hint of sadness to explore modern man yearning and in pursuit for love. Contemporary young love often has a feeling of loss. Many people are said to live in the present, this is in fact , a way of life to give themselves an attitude. But in reality, it may not be able to reach their own requirements. Many things including marriage comes and goes too fast, everything is in a rapid state, we try to grab on to something, but found it to be difficult, very fragile. Due to the loss in the novel’s fiction, so it stirred up some sad emotions but at the same time they want to go on trying to find the feeling which impressed me. These feelings were hidden behind fiction prompted me to want to turn it into a movie.
记者:有没有很触动你的小说细节?
Reporter: Is there any touching details of your novel?
郭立珺:有,小说中的女主角在感情比较混乱的时候,她每天都会在家喝一杯咖啡,突然有一天,有一只受伤的鸽子从天而降,这只鸽子的腿上绑着一份信,她看不懂这份信,这让她很好奇。巧合的是,她在后面跟这份“分手信”中谈到的男孩在完全不知情的情况下相遇了,这其实是一个想去寻找爱情的人和一个已经有了爱情、但却很困惑的人相遇时发生的故事。
Guo Li Jun: Yes, when the novel's heroine is in an emotional chaos, she drank a cup of coffee at home every day, and then suddenly one day, a wounded dove fell from the sky, the dove's leg tied with a copy of letter that she can't read nor understand, it made her curious. Coincidentally, she was following "Dear John" regarding a boy who is completely unaware, making an encounter, who is actually a person who was looking for love and have a love story, but the story is about how the meeting of the confused person occurred.
小说的结尾部分最打动我,在经过了一系列的波折后,这位男孩子让女主角的生活发生了很大的改变,她原来是一个很好热闹、很得瑟的女孩,男孩子让人改变了很多,最后,当她以为这段感情已经擦肩而过的时候,一天早上,她推开窗门,迎着刺眼的太阳,这只鸽子又从远处飞来,腿上同样绑着一封信。这种流动的情绪很让人迷恋,但这不是一部能让你哭得稀里哗啦的电影。不像《分手合约》和《被偷走的那五年》中,有生离死别的描写。
The end of the novel's impressed me the most, after a series of twists and turns later, the boy lead the heroine’s life undergone great changes, she actually turned out to be a good lively fun, and was a complacent girl, the boy let people around him changed him alot, and finally when the moment she thought this feelings has pass by, one morning, she pushed to open the windows, greeting the glare of the sun, from distance a dove came flying, its legs tied with a sealed letter too. Such a gesture really makes one fascinated, but this is not a movie which will make you cry your eyes out. Unlike the “The Wedding Invitation” and “The Stolen Years”, with the description of life to death.
我们在电影中保留了“鸽子”的元素和淡淡的忧伤情绪,我们还另外增加了一些喜感元素,增加了很多跟当下年轻人的生活方式比较类似的情节。
We have retained the "dove" elements and a touch of sadness emotion in the movie, we also added some additional comical elements, added a lot of plot relatively similar to the present lifestyle of young people.
朴施厚的其实跟影片非常吻合
Park Si Hoo is actually very consistent with the movie.
记者:为什么选择了朴施厚当男主角?
Reporter: Why did you choose Park Si Hoo as the male lead?
郭立珺:小说中的男主人公是一个日本人,由于各种原因,我们把男主角的身份换成了韩国人,这部电影中出现了韩语、英语和中文。我们通过韩国的制片公司帮我们联络演员,其中就包括金秀贤,当时他正在拍摄《来自星星的你》,没有档期。
Guo Li Jun : The male lead of the novel is a Japanese, due to various reasons, we replaced the actor’s identity into Korean and this movie is developed in Korean, English and Chinese. Through Korea's production company help us contact actors, including Kim Soo Hyun, at that time he was filming “My Love From The Stars” but he wasn't available on schedule.
后来也挑选了很多韩国的著名演员,直到见到了朴施厚,第一眼就觉得他跟我们片中的男主角在气质上非常吻合。他在看了剧本后告诉我,这个人物跟他本人很像,基本上不需要去演。这个人物要求的并不是一个小男生的感觉,而是会让女生看了心疼,会有一种愿意去帮助他的感觉,朴施厚本人跟角色非常贴合。
Subsequently we picked up many famous actor in Korea, until we saw Park Si Hoo, at the first sight of him, we thought he sync very well with the movie's male lead in temperament. He told me after he read the script, the character is very much like himself, generally there is no requirement for him to act. This role does not require a young boy's feelings, but looking at him will make girls distressed. There will be a sense of willingness to help him, so Park Si Hoo himself fits the role perfectly well.
记者:为什么想到要拍摄一部文艺片?
Reporter: Why do you have the idea to film an artistic movie?
郭立珺:我们把这部电影定位为“新文艺电影”,也就是有文艺气质的商业片。站在制片人的立场上看,我觉得现在的文艺电影在回归,比如像张艺谋的《归来》,许鞍华的《黄金年代》等,市场也需要有这样的电影。
Guo Li Jun: We pitched the movie as "new artistic movie", as there are literary qualities of commercial with an artistic temperament. From the producer point of view, I think the artistic film in return, such as Zhang Yimou's “Coming Home”, such as Ann Hui's “Golden Era”, the market also needs to have such movie.
我觉得,很多愉悦观众的电影,无论是不是烂片,其实出发点都是好的,都是希望大家开心,只是借助的手段不同而已。目前国内优秀的爱情片还是很少的,我们也希望能够做一些相对纯粹的爱情片。但我们也不想自娱自乐,跟观众隔绝,而是在其中增加一些现在年轻人关注的感情体验,让片子更让具有观赏性。
I think there are many euphoric audience, whether it's a bad movie or not, in fact, the starting point is good, all I hope is everybody to be happy, just with different manners and outcomes. Currently there too few good romance movie, we want to be able to do some relatively pure romance movie too. But we also don't want to entertain, isolate contact with the audience, but incorporating some of the emotional experience of the young people concerned, to make the movie even more spectacular.
为什么叫“气味性”电影?

记者:这样的影片会打动80后吗?
Reporter: Will this movie impress those after 80s generation ?
郭立珺:我相信现在的80后年轻人,对于片中的情感是能够很好解读并从中找到共鸣的。王斌老师在跟我聊天时谈到,现在的有些年轻人对于那些有味道的、深层的情感体验是无法读懂的,他觉得现在的年轻人不懂爱情,他也不认为现在的有些爱情是真正的爱情。他是从一个作家的立场来看待的,这也是他的一些思考。
Guo Li Jun: I believe the current 80s generation youngsters are able to interpret some good resonance from the emotions of the movie. I was chatting with Mr Wang Bin about it, that nowadays some young people who have flavour and deeper emotional experience is unable to comprehend. He felt that young people today do not understand love, he does not think nowadays love is true love. He is looking from a writer's view of point and this is some of his thoughts.
我跟他也有一些不同的意见,我们有一个标语叫“在爱情消亡的年代寻找爱情。”所以我们除了保留原著小说中的“鸽子”、异国恋情等元素外,其中的绝大部分情节都是新的。
He and I have some differences in our opinions, we have a slogan called "looking for love in the era of dying love. So we retain the original novel’s “Dove ", long-distance relationships and other elements, where most of the plot is new.
记者:你们为什么把这部电影定义为“气味性”电影?
Reporter: Why do you defined this movie as "The Scent" movie?
郭立珺:我们其实是想给观众除了三维的感官体验外,再增加一个维度,那就是人与人之间的一种味道。一位意大利的科学家曾经做过实验,鸽子其实是通过嗅觉来找寻回家的路径。而且鸽子也是一夫一妻制的动物,在西方世界,鸽子也是爱神的宠物,这也是我们为什么在片中反复用到鸽子这个元素,是熟悉的味道让鸽子飞回主人的家,也是熟悉的味道让恋人回到彼此的身边,这也可以引申为,人最终还是要回到最初的情感表达上去。
Guo Li Jun: We actually wanted to give the audience an addition to the three dimensional sensory experience, but then adding another dimension, a kind of flavour which varies from person to person. An Italian scientist has experimented, that doves actually find their path home through the sense of smell. Moreover doves are monogamous animals. In the Western world, doves are God of Love’s pet, which is why we repeatedly used dove in the elements of the movie which is a familiar flavour of the dove to be able to fly back to its master’s home, it is also a familiar flavour of lovers to be by each other's side, which can also be extended to people who eventually will have return to the beginning by emotional expression.
从观影层面,我们除了提供声音、画面等立体的感官层面体验外,我们也希望我们传递出来的这种香气和味道,不管是爱情的味道,还是爱人的味道,甚至是记忆中的某种熟悉的味道,观众在观影的过程中都能够体会到。那一定是你曾经有过,或者是曾经想要拥有的东西。我们想打破观众和银幕之间的间隔,但我们不是通过科技的手段让观众闻到什么,而是想让片中传达出来的东西真的能够让观众闻到一样。比如,当你跟恋人一起走进电影院看这部电影时,随着故事情节的推进,你可能会觉得坐在身边的恋人的味道越来越浓烈;也许你在生活中已经关闭了某种嗅觉,但是观影的过程中唤醒了这种嗅觉,你又能闻到身边人的那种熟悉的味道。
From the viewing level, apart from providing the sensory experience of sound, pictures and stereo, we also hope that we transfered the scent and flavour , whether it's the flavor of love or a lover's flavour, or even remembering a familiar flavour, that audience in the process of viewing can appreciate it. It must be like something which you have had, or want to have. We want to break the interlude between the audience and the screen, but it couldn’t be achieved from science and technology so that the audience can smell something, yet we wanted to convey something out of the movie so that the audience can really smell the same scent which is alike. For example, when you talk to your lovers as a couple who went into the cinema to see the movie, as the story progresses, you may feel the flavour of lovers sitting around getting more and more intense;; perhaps you live in some kind of sense of smell that has been turned off, but that scent awakens you in the course of viewing the movie, you can smell that kind of familiar scent from the people around you.
你会恍然大悟,原来这种味道真的是存在的。
You will realize that scent really exist.
电影服装的奢华不同于《小时代》
Luxury movie fashion is different from the “Tiny Times”.
记者:影片中有没有时尚元素?
Reporter: The movie has no fashion elements?
郭立珺:有,不过跟《小时代》比,我们是低调的奢华。女主角的扮演者陈燃在时尚圈一直非常活跃,很多时尚品牌喜欢找她去拍照,她也是陈凯歌导演公司力捧的一个演员。我们也想通过陈燃让电影多一种气质,增加影片的时尚感。时尚元素除了靠一些外在服装等体现外,有时候也是要靠人物骨子里的气质来体现的。陈燃骨子里有一种脱俗的气质。
Guo Li Jun : Yes, but compared to “Tiny Times” , we have low-key fashion luxury. Actress Chen Ran, who is very active in the fashion world, played the heroine , lots of fashion brands prefers her to be their model, she is also one of the actress publicized by Director Chen Kaige’s company. We also want to make the movie as Chen Ran’s personal sense of fashion to increase. Not only external apparel and other fashion elements reflected outside, it also depends on the character qualities embodied on the figure frame. Chen Ran has a refined figure frame.
我们电影中演员穿的服装虽然看起来不太亮丽,但是这些服装都是一些国际大牌在今年秋冬的主打款,今年最流行复古,深蓝、咖啡色、墨绿等颜色是主打色系。这也符合我们电影的色调,因为影片大部分都是在初秋发生的,也符合我们的电影偏欧洲的暖调风格。
Our movie artistes who were wearing those clothes may not look too bright, but these clothes are some of the big international autumn/winter distinguished fashion this year, as this year's most popular vintage is the main color which is dark blue, brown, dark green, and other colors. This is also in line with our movie’s tone, because the movie were mostly occurred in early autumn, is also consistent with the warm tone of our movie as per European cinema style.
记者 :对观众有什么样的期待?
Reporter: What is your expectations from the audiences?
郭立珺:现在的女人很辛苦,很多时候可能会忘记恋爱时的感觉,我们希望这部电影能够让走进电影院的观众们找回一些恋爱的感觉,我们是一部让人看后会有恋爱冲动的电影。我们也希望很多男性在关注自己恋人或老婆的同时,也能陪着老婆走进电影院。
Guo Li Jun : Today’s women are very stressful, a lot of times when you might forget the feeling of love, so we hope this movie can make it into the cinema to allow audiences to get in touch with some of the feeling of love, ours is a type of movie which makes people look for love on impulse. We also hope that many men pay attention and be concerned about their lover or wife at the same time and also be able to accompany his wife into the cinema.
