♥ PSH Interviewed for his drama "Princess Prosecutor" ♥

Q :: Which scene with your costar did you look most forward to?

PSH :: The scene with So Yeon Ssi in the bath ~ the staff worked hard to clean the bathtub...which is very different from how they are like normally. Hehe~Too bad everything was covered up well with tape and everything...

Q :: Which scene left you with a deep impression?

PSH :: The alarm clock recording scene ~ I couldn't mess that up. When Hye Ri looked for Seo Byun ~ and she kept shouting his name (that scene).

Q ::  Your first thoughts on your costar's character?

PSH :: I had seen IRIS, so I was afraid that if I made a mistake she would come at me with a flying kick. She had a cool-headed, city girl image, but it seems that she can easily become something else ~ she can adapt easily, and so we had a happy time shooting.

Q :: Who is most like their character in real life?

PSH :: Ma Hye Ri and Kim So Yeon - they're most alike and the actions are the same too. Actually, I am too ~ so it was easy to throw myself into the character.

Q :: Are you similar to Seo Byun as a person?

PSH :: Being afraid of strangers and being introverted are qualities that we're not the same in. However, the parts where we are the same ~ if I get closer to someone that naughty side of me will come out, and I can act more brazenly.

Q :: When you shot the bath scene was the water hot or cold?

PSH :: (not too sure) To shoot a scene where i was about to wake up i totally had no preparation for it, which is too bad. I also shot it for a very short time, so conclusion is: it was lukewarm

Q :: Did you also have to work out for that bath scene? (Did you prepare your body?)

PSH :: I had no time to exercise, so I was completely unprepared for it.

Q ::If you were Seo Byun, would you have let Ma Hye Ri cover up her father's crime?

PSH :: If this was the woman I truly loved, then I would have let her do that.

Q :: When did you start thinking Ma Hye Ri was cute?

PSH ::When she told her mother that Seo Byun was like superman. The first time we held hands, and then after that she cried out "Seo Byun, Seo Byun" ~ she was incredibly cute.

Q :: At Prosecutor Ma's home, during the sleeping scene, your eyes were moving - was that intentional? (was it a set up?)

PSH :: No it wasn't ~ I hadn't been awakened yet, so it was an unconscious thing.

Q :: Was it improvisation or was it part of the script?

PSH ::The director and writer hoped that the script was rich enough so that we could act by extracting the characteristics of the roles from it .

Q :: When you cooked ramen - was it based on how you do it yourself?

PSH :: I really like ramen, so the way it was written in the script is how I'd do it. When it came time for the scene I asked the writer if I should do it the way it was written in the script. (the writer) said no. Therefore it was kind of new ~ to not let the egg yolk break, or to not drop it.

Q :: If Ma Gom and Seo Byun were to meet again under different circumstances in another drama, what would it be like?

PSH :: Something like we'd be youths in the countryside, she'd be a country girl... there'd be showers.. (feels like he's describing Autumn in my Heart)

Q :: Was the reaction to the kiss scene like what you anticipated?

PSH ::Especially the kiss reaction, the expectation was very warm, even better that people smiled, we already did it during auditions and just pulled the kiss scene longer, doing it carefully and until we got the director's satisfaction.

Q ::How did you prepare for the role?

PSH :: It's the role I've always been waiting for. "We Got Married" is more for juniors breaking out and it allows you to indulge in naughty behavior and play tricks - I feel that this role is more suited for me. There are roles of rich people but they're kind of flat. There needs to be some depth ~ or be full of anger ~ so then you can go over the top. The script was really rich, the director and author very satisfying. Because the writer allowed me to have such a good grasp on the role I felt confident in acting it.

Q ::  Were there any unnatural parts in the drama that you acted out with your costar?

PSH :: No. I hadn't filmed in a while, so being in front of the camera was a little unnatural. Filming was fun overall, everyone seemed to agree, it was happy, so I looked forward to filming. The image that I emerged with from this drama, fans may find it amusing - on one hand fun, and on the other hand very cheerful.

Q :: What were the scenes most satisfying and dissatisfying for you?

PSH :: There's a lot - the two kisses, alarm clock, "Seo Byun Seo Byun". The dissatisfying ones ~ in the third, fourth episode the action scene was too short.

Q :: Did you feel any burden in regards to going up against other dramas?

PSH :: Not really. Overall no burdens. There were a lot of people already worrying, but I had confidence. Having seen how interesting the script is, shooting was comfortable so there were no burdens.

Q :: Is the cute tone in reality similar to the script?

PSH :: Seo Byun's kind tone really depends on how comfortable he is with the situation, and can appear all the time.

Q ::The role of Seo Byun, what significance does it hold for you?

PSH ::The exploration of Park Shi Hoo ~ it allowed me to expand my range.

Q ::Was the kiss scene satisfying for you?

PSH ::I was confident in the kiss scene. Before, it's like acting as though you're grabbing a friend's lover ~ you want that kind of response. The family (or the crew) wanted a more "pure" kiss, but audiences would then be disappointed. This was the time that the real side (of the character) would come out. While we were shooting and imitating the scene, So Yeon said "Oppa, this isn't a 'bobo' (small kiss)" Having her say something like that made me kiss her a little more fiercely when we filmed it. Now no one can say I can't kiss.

Q ::If it were really you, would you give up your parents for Ma Hye Ri?

PSH ::It depends on the situation. I can understand that it's really important, but it was also a long time ago and is something that I should have let go and forgotten. I'd return to her side and beg her father one more time.

Q ::What do you have to say to the director and writer?

PSH ::To the director ~ for giving me such a handsome role, to be in such a rush and produce such great work ~ the director is a magician! Many thanks for making such a great work of art!

To the author ~ to model such characters after real people, make the script so interesting, and allow me to portray such a role, how can I ever repay you? Thanks!
